ENERGY EFFICIENCY – PRESENTATION
The electric power is a very important challenge for the companies but also for Vietnam in general. We are all sensitized with this problem:
- by the raising of prices of energy (basic rate + coming of new peak hour rate),
- by an awakening “citizen” about the risk of insufficiency of supply (will the increasing requirements be met by the increase for the production ?) and about the respect of the environment.
Vis-a-vis this problem Aceldis Asia innovates into import equipment of new technology (France origin) which allows an analysis of the consumers without implementing the old processes of investigation with multiple wattmeters, on the one hand very intrusive on the installations and on the other hand very expensive.
In a second step, the analysis of the results makes it possible to define the chronological actions to implement according to the binomial “large-scale consumers - economy appropriatenesses”.
Then, for each solution, is quantified an equivalent of energy saving expressed in kWh cumulated over the lifespan of the equipment. This evaluation with IEC standards makes it possible to the Managers to appreciate the return on investment of the actions to be carried out.
This new service is developed in co-operation with the University Paul Cézanne, Aix-Marseilles III Thermal Génie department & Energy and more particularly the energy management & renewable energies. It is direct application on the field by the partnership between this University, the FFIE (French Federation of the Electrical Companies led in south of France by Patrick ROCCA-SERRA) and EDF.
In conclusion, a University training which “sticks” to this new concern and the valorization of European Technology and the know-how of its Companies.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY – TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
1) Electrical Power Diagnosis
This advanced technology uses a new kind of electrical consumption recorder. It allows device-by-device detailed electrical consumption access without modifications to the existing wiring.
To improve the electrical installation and save electrical power we need to diagnosis specific electrical power consumptions by main devices on site. Then we can adapt the equipment and the use on site.
Today the consumer has only one global information of his electrical consumption. The traditional method to diagnosis all device consumptions of installation is a heavy method because we need to install one wattmeter by device.
This method is expensive and long to bring into play because it needs several tens of wattmeters by place and it’s impossible in hidden wiring installation (neon tubs on ceiling for example…). In practice, it's not applied on long-time measurement because of its expansiveness.
The advanced measures applying use a NON-INTRUSIVE metering system based on switch on / off high frequency impedance impulses and a new impulse recognition technology for Electric Energy Management. With only one connection behind the main supply, the new generation system detects the different devices in different places by starting and stopping them and rewarding their own consumption respectively. This method is hardly expensive, quick, intrusiveless and it does not modify existing wiring.
The original aspect of the system comes from the fact that only one wattmeter after the main meter allows the monitoring of power changes for any device we want.
This is the heart of the technology. After connecting the main meter, technicians walk around the site and configure the metering system, switch on/off load a few times to identify it. Then set up a log file, download the data and later dispatch for analysis appliance consumptions.

2) Appliance consumption Datas analysis.
This intrusiveless technology does not need any wiring modification nor any kind of permission. The system rely on a measurement unit connected after the main meter. By the way it is very silent and do not modify user's behaviour. This new measurement device uses an innovative technology and replaces tens of wattmeters used until now.
Once linked to a computer, the system supplies for each electrical identify device, indicators such as consumption in Watts, in % of the total consumption and after analysing the use, the same data in daily, monthly and yearly average.



Kinds of Information and Interpretation
3) Diagnosis to adapt Equipments and installations.
Based on European energy efficiency standards and Aceldis Asia experience, we will propose for energy efficiency the actions profitable to reduce consumption of energy. For example the use of lamps with low consumption (class A1) is well-known, but the installation of small process to monitoring installations is one among many others proposals to consuming energy in an optimal way.
For each kind of identified consumer subject to potential consumption reduction, we propose an action and calculate the cumulate power save result in Kwh along the lifespan of equipment. Then it’s easy for Managers to check the balance between the costs of investement and savings.
Usually people know few solutions to reduce consumption. Our purpose is to identify the whole technical standard solutions in residential, building and industry.
